Word and Excel are now free for EDU. 
In order to install and activate Word / Excel on your mac, please follow these instructions: 

1. Go to the App store on the mac. 
     a. Search for "Word"  - and install from App store.
     b. Search for Excel...." "

2. Visit : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/products/office
      a. Register your email & create a Free teacher account. 
      b. Might have to verify your account via email...etc. 

3.  Open Word, and in the bottom right, click the "Activate" button.  Enter your new Microsoft account info.
